Essential information for your stay at our Marlborough Sounds cabins.
Check-In & Check-Out
Check-in: 3:00 PM
Check-out: 10:00 AM
Early check-in is subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed. If your room is ready when you arrive, we’re happy to accommodate you.
Late check-out is usually not possible due to cleaning schedules, but feel free to ask at check-in.
Cancellation Policy – Direct Bookings Only
Please note our cancellation policy for cabins booked directly:
Cancel 8+ days before arrival: No charge (excluding the 10% non-refundable deposit). The prepaid balance is refunded, minus the deposit.
Cancel within 7 days of arrival: No refund; full payment is charged.
The 10% deposit is non-refundable, as it secures your booking and blocks those dates for other guests.
Credit card refunds will be processed minus transaction fees.
For third-party bookings (e.g., Booking.com), refer to their platform-specific policies.
Payment Details
We accept credit card payments on-site (2.5% surcharge).
Internet banking from a New Zealand bank account is accepted at check-out (proof required).

Children Policy
Due to terrain and water safety risks, children under 16 are not permitted. Our Marlborough Sounds cabins are designed for adults, offering a peaceful, child-free environment perfect for couples and small groups.
Pets
We have a resident dog, Oscar. For the protection of native wildlife and the comfort of guests, we do not allow guest dogs.
Smoking
Smoking is permitted outdoors only.
Before You Arrive
Please email us the following details in advance:
Are you walking in, (eg Ship Cove), arriving by water taxi, or by private boat?
What water taxi company and departure time from Picton are you using?
Are bags/luggage being delivered separately by water taxi? If yes, let us know in advance—we won't chase up undelivered bags if not expected.
If arriving by private boat : Do you require a mooring reserved?
What is your preferred bed configuration: King or Twin Singles? Beds are pre-configured and cannot be changed upon arrival.
Would you like to order meals? Let us know about any dietary restrictions.
